Wreckless(2Dogs) gets a transplant
« on: July 08, 2010, 07:34:27 PM »

Mr Dawson aka 2 Dogs now Wreckless ( with a lisp ) has now or will soon be running a 200 Zuk instead of the old 150 2 Stroke. This came from X club boat Big Red which now lives at 1770, could give Flash a run for his money.

Cheers salty

Yep, the Zuke is on  :) coupled with hydrive hydraulic steering. Haven't had the joy of hydraulic steering since 2001. Finally put it on a Seafarer Viking, got to enjoy it for a couple of months and then promptly sold the rig. The things we do  ??? 2Dogs did not really need it as it was only a 115hp. Graham Jeffers assured me I would have difficulty handling the torque of a 16 x 20 + 200hp Zuke. I was ready to give it a try without and then remembered that I want the kids to get experience with a steering wheel so decided I had better put it on for their sake  ;).
I have not had it out for a test run yet but I am assured it will be quick  :o. I think that is a definite but what I am looking for is the economy as a standard 610C only comes with a 150 - 165 litre tank which is strange for a boat that size. There is room to enlarge to a 200L but that will have to wait for a while  :-X.
So hopefully I will make it out next weekend.
Hope to see you all on the water.
Over and out, 'Weckless'

With the average trip to DT or the Banks using around 90L, I doubt you will feel the need for a bigger fuel tank anytime soon.  For 1770, you could carry a couple of jerries, although I didn't need to last year.  Wait a minute - Weckless isn't going to 1770 anyway.

I got a new boat so I could keep up with you guys, so now you have raised the bar another notch.  Congrats on the motor transpant anyway Paul, I hope you get years of great service from it.

Did some work on Wrecless today fixing up some wiring, boy that motor looks big ???, tomorrow is the big test and we don't know if it will float the big donk. At least the allround light now works and we will see it  until it goes under, heatshrunk the joints so it will glow until we find him :-[.
I don't think I will be showing him a clean pair of heals any more :-\, if it floats that is ;D.

Well it did float and went nicely by all accounts, didn't look any lower in the water than before and 610 looks much nicer with the big Zuk on the back. The Suzuki on the cowl cover is on a bit of an angle which gives it a sporty look 8), Paul took it to 5500 doing 38 knots :o so flat stick it will be quick and he caught the biggest Snapper as well :'( he won't get the smile off his face for a while.

Yep, I'm smilin'  :) :) :)
It went fast, real fast  :o.
And had a real growl  :P when it opened up, but quiet as when idling, didn't know I had left it on a couple of times.
And,..............I got 2 snapper 1st one 7.1 kg and the 2nd 6.7. Best 2 snapper I have ever caught. Deckie got one at 5kg as well, on ground I discovered through going for a wonder. Found a drop off,  86m down to 96m and more in places. Hopefully it will produce again as we couldn't fish it after a while cause the current was to strong. How good is that. So Weckless maybe fishy.
