He might as well put it in storage as it is not going to 1770.

Sounds pretty good figures... 2.7km/L
gotta be happy with that.I have found that unless you are filling from the same bowser # at the same petrol station (same bowser + same incline), refilling the tank to gauge 'usage' and for calibration can be a little 'off' unless you average over many fills. Even then if they re-kit the ZVA nozzle (or replace), then it will click off at a different point. But I suppose at least it is a good start. From scratch I have recorded my figures for every trip & inserted them into a spreadsheet. Maybe 3 times now (after a good 500 - 800L have gone thru the donk) I completely drain the remainder in my tank into jerry's, then compare the actual remainder to the calculated remainder, and calibrate as necessary (plus also check for crap in the tank). I have a Navman f210 plus the yammy fuel consumption gauge, and after ~2600L the yam calibration is at +4% and the Navman 0%. For the last 620L there is 1.9L b/w them, and now both very accurate. The Navman is now 2 boats old and 'touch wood' have not had a t/ducer issue yet. Don't think any of my gear is NMEA2000 compliant, so will make do without a fancy network ![]() |

Hi Brendon
Yep, saw that the most interesting photos missed out - pity but never mind. Not sure if I mentioned it elsewhere but we're pretty sure we've sorted the problems we were having getting accurate fuel flow data on the HDS from the Zuke. Turned out to be dodgy software on the Lowrance/Zuke interface cable - got an update file from Lowrance USA and now all lookimg sweet. HDS tells me that at around 4200rpm I'm using about 15-16l/hr at a bit over 40 km/hr and mileage is about 2.67km/litre. Drop to 4000 and its around 13.5l/hr. Gotta be pretty happy with that. Will know more after I fill the tank next time and see if I need to recalibrate, but last time it was pretty close - system said we had used 31.7 l and we got just under 34 l in at the bowser. This next fill will tell us more because we ran 3 trips out of Evans Head over a weekend and used a bit over 54 l i think according to the HDS data. And some of the runs were into pretty crappy conditions. Just waiting for a decent weekend forecast so I can fill'er up on the way to the ramp. Cheers Grant |

Two bites....not bad
![]() Yep, thought I'd better keep up with the Salty, Weckless and other new-engined faster boats with a new 300 V6....err not quite. But gee it would go fast, think I would get the 'PBA fast boat trophy' with that combo! Hint; If I bolted the new one beside the existing one I would have 252HP , do you think it is worth the effort ![]() Nope, no more prop tests, bought a little air cooled Honda 2HP for the ducky. Thought that an air cooled would be more kid proof when ploughing the sand in the shallows. Nearly sold the truck the other week, but they went & spent more money on a newer one with a bit of warranty . Damn, start again! I reckon it would look really good with Salty behind it Rob...cheers Brendon |

The boats back on the trailer took 30 minutes single handed after I worked out one of the disc was sticking
and I pushed my hernia back in . Had too readjust the back set of wobbles and the bolt has never been touched , blow me down they undid easily and after a small sledge hammering(fine adjustment) all good. Just remembered 1770 soon, should have done the bearings.Salty |

HI Brendon,
Has the Navara turned into a V6 300hp Yammie, now that would be nice and go like a cut cat. Salty |

"A real good deal on a new motor" ........ OK Brendon, I'll bite.... spill your guts
![]() And does that mean that we have to put up with another 300000000 prop tests on the new motor ![]() Cheers Grant |
